Food Resources - Summer 2020

  1. Free Summer Meals, funded by the USDA, are available to kids and teens ages 18 and younger at summer meal sites across New York State. Visit or call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (for Spanish) Monday through Friday (7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET) to find a summer meal site near you.

  3. For those Putnam County households, with school-aged children who qualify for free or reduced lunch, that sign up we will deliver food, books and activities on Thursdays weekly through August 27. Visit 
  4. Second Chance Foods will distribute food from Gilead Church at 9 Church St Carmel, NY from 9am-10am every Monday.  Boxes will have groceries, as well as some prepared foods such as meatloaf, chicken Parmesan, soups, chilis, salads, etc. YOU MUST REGISTER for proper planning .  Visit and click on the “Sign up to volunteer” button., then "Free Summer Meals & Groceries.  When registering, please enter your first name only to protect your privacy.
