Dear Carmel Community,
Earlier this week our district, along with all other public-school districts in Putnam County, received guidance from the Putnam County Department of Health related to High-Risk Winter sports. Based on this guidance, there are a few measures that need to be put in place prior to our district participating in these sports(Basketball, Wrestling, Ice Hockey and Cheerleading).
The county is requiring that all families sign an additional consent form as well as a code of conduct related to COVID-19. I am attaching both forms to this email. These forms must be printed out and handed in to your child's respective coaches on the first day of try-outs/practice. Without having hard copies of these forms, no student will be allowed to participate. These forms can be found under the athletic forms section of the athletic website.
In addition, there are COVID-19 related questions on our FamilyID registration platform that must be updated. If you have previously registered your child, you will need to log back in and update the information.
An additional requirement from the Putnam County Department of Health is that all student-athletes who have tested positive for COVID-19 require cardiac clearance from their private physician to be eligible to participate in athletics. If your child has tested positive, please provide the additional cardiac clearance to the nurse's office in your child's building.
The goal is to try and start official practices as soon as possible. Please check your emails for practice times and locations that our coaches will reach out with.
Thank you in advance for your support.
