CHS Student-Musicians Selected for NYSSMA All-State Honors Ensembles

Congratulations to Carmel High School's Eli Harrison, Maureen Henshaw and Emily Matera for being selected out of hundreds of New York State students to participate in the NYSSMA All-State Honors Ensembles in Rochester, December 4-5.

The students were chosen based on their NYSSMA solo scores from Spring 2021 which were among the top scores in the entire state. Harrison was also accepted into the All Nationals Ensemble and Henshaw was also accepted as an alternate to All Nationals, which is compromised of the best musicians in the country.

Additionally, CCSD Director of Music Meghan Cabral was recognized for her service to NYSSMA and the school music community. For the last six years, Cabral has served as the Zone 10 representative for NYSSMA, which includes Putnam, Dutchess, and Columbia counties. Congratulations, Meghan!
