At the conclusion of the school year, George Fischer Middle School eighth grade student Natalie Escaravage was presented with the New York State Family & Consumer Science Hudson Valley Northeast Student of the Year Award.

Escaravage and her grandmother

Each year, Family and Consumer Science teachers from across the Hudson Valley nominate outstanding students from their classes, and Escaravage was nominated by her teacher, Alice Holzmann.

“Natalie is an exceptional young lady who is hard working, energetic, and responsible. She excelled in the classroom and is compassionate with her peers,” said Holzmann. “Natalie practices citizenship by being involved in community service, helping out at the 4-H fair, as a member of the Junior National Honor Society, playing softball, and enjoying music as well as camping. She stated on her class résumé that she would like to pursue a career in education as a teacher, and our students would be lucky to have Natalie in their corner!”

Escaravage received her award from Holzmann in a small ceremony outside the middle school with her grandmother in attendance.

Congratulations, Natalie!
