Kindergarten Students Celebrate a Year of Music at Kent Elementary

Students perform at music celebration

Kindergarten students at Kent Elementary School serenaded parents/guardians and family members and celebrated all that they accomplished during their first year at the school at a recent end-of-the-year music performance.

Kent Elementary’s youngest students sang songs about the months of the year, days of the week, parts of an insect, and the importance of kindness and friendship. They also impressed the audience with renditions of “Oh, Mr. Sun,” “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars and a special Kindergarten graduation song to the tune of “Summer Nights” from Grease.

The finale: a special thank you song for their parents in attendance.

“We have seen tremendous growth from this group of students, so they owe themselves another round of applause because they have a lot to be proud of,” said Principal Mike Setaro. He also thanked the parents and family members for their support this year.

“It takes a whole circle in today’s world, and we are going to be a partnership from today and for the next 12 years,” he said. “We thank you for engaging with us and we thank you for your support through the PTO and other organizations. We started a lot of new kindergarten traditions this year, so we have a lot to look forward to!”
