CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION Carmel High School's graduation will be livestreamed on the high school website. With the weather forecast calling for rain on Monday, June 22 we MIGHT be moving our graduation to our rain date of Tuesday, June 23rd. Either way, the graduation will be streamed live on the website for those who aren't attending.

EIGHTH GRADE GRADUATION George Fischer Middle School holds two moving-up ceremonies for its 8th graders. One half of the class graduates at 1:30 and the second half graduates at 4 p.m. We will livestream both graduations on the George Fischer Middle School website. If you aren't attending the graduations, go to the website to watch them live.
MIDDLE SCHOOL HALF-DAY SCHEDULE Don't forget: Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26 are half days for middle schoolers and elementary students.

Elementary Half- Day Reminders: 6/23 - 6/26
The last full day of school will be Monday, June 22nd. The remainder of the week will be half-days.
Tuesday, 6/23 - Friday, 6/26 will be half-days for elementary students. Parent pick-ups will start at 11:45. Students will be released at 12:00. Kindly plan accordingly.
The last day of meal service is Monday, June 22. There will be no breakfast served on the half days.

Summer Reading Kick Off Party - Unearth a Story- presented by Reed Memorial Library and Carmel Recreation and Parks. Celebrate the beginning of Summer and the 250th birthday of the USA with a party at Camarda Park on June 20, 2026 at 10:30 am. Sign up for Summer Reading, meet our local firefighters and police dept., look at construction trucks, and listen to Music with Emily. Wear your red, white, and blue! Registration is required.

Dino Academy: A Dinosaur Discovery Show - Tuesday, 7/7 @ 11 AM for ages 4 and up. Led by the quirky and curious Dr. Sarah Tops, this action-packed adventure uncovers fascinating dino facts that will wow even the biggest dino fans.

Explorer Academy - Tuesday, 7/7 @ 2 PM for ages 5 to 8. Young explorers will dive into exciting themed adventures like Ocean Explorers, Space Explorers, Jungle Explorers, and Dinosaur Hunters.

Hands-On Archaeology - Wednesday, 7/8 @ 11 AM for ages 8 to 14. Join a Mohonk Preserve environmental educator to explore archaeological artifacts from the Hudson Valley region!

Tiny Treasure Hunters - Wednesday, 7/8 @ 2 PM for ages 5 and up. Young explorers become junior archaeologists as they dig through mock excavation sites filled with hidden treasures and ancient “artifacts.”

Cheer Camp - Thursday, 7/9 @ 11 AM for ages 6 to 10. This fun and dynamic class blends the fundamentals of cheerleading with beginner gymnastics skills, all in a safe and supportive environment.

Sybil's Celebration - Friday, 7/10 @ 2 PM for all ages. In this celebration of Sybil Ludington's Ride we will have fun exploring history! There will be a story time, snacks, crafts and even pony rides so you can imagine how Sybil felt on that night!

Friday Night Film Club: Hamilton Sing-Along - Friday, 7/10 @ 6 PM for ages 12 to 19. You know the story and you definitely know the songs - come and sing-along with us to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

Reading Buddies
Children of all ages are invited to read with a teen volunteer or listen to stories during the Teen Reading Buddies summer program at the Kent Library on July 8, July 14, July 20, July 29, and August 6, 2026. No registration is required, and children under age 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunny Boy’s Birthday Party
Children entering Grades 1 and up are invited to celebrate Sunny Boy’s birthday on July 8 at 3:00 PM with crafts, gifts, questions about therapy dogs .

Storytime with the Teachers
Children entering Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to enjoy stories and a craft with local teachers on July 13 and August 17 at 4:30 PM.

Meet Rocky the Raptor
Families are invited to meet Rocky the life-sized velociraptor on July 22 at 4:30 PM for stories, activities, photos, and dinosaur themed fun. Please register each child separately.

Petting Zoo
Children and families are invited to meet and interact with a variety of animals, including ducks, guinea pigs, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, and bunnies, on July 25 at 10:30 AM.

Summer Literacy Lab
Children are invited to participate in hands on literacy activities on July 27, August 3, August 10, and August 17 that support reading and spelling development through movement and multisensory learning.

Foam Party
Children under 18 are invited to celebrate the end of Summer Reading with a foam filled dance party at the Town Center Green on August 12 at 4:30 PM. Space Programs with Dr Z. July 28 at 6:00 PM Lost in Space-Space Snowballs & Shooting Stars: A Guide to Comets and Meteor Showers and helps us get ready for the Perseid meteor shower. This all-ages program (7+) is part of Dr. Z's summer space series, which also includes Celebrating 100 Years of Hubble's Tuning Fork on June 29 and The UFO Files on August 31.

Meet "Dr. Joseph Warren" Wednesday, July 15th at 6 p.m. Recommended Ages: Teen and Up. Michael Baker reenacts the life of Dr. and Major General Joseph Warren, a key leader at the start of the American Revolution.

Meet Hulda: The Witch of the American Revolution, Saturday, August 8th at 11 a.m. Recommended Ages: 10 and Up. Hulda was feared as a witch for her healing and basket-weaving skills, yet celebrated as a Revolutionary War sharpshooter.

Teen Art Takeover with Hudson Valley Inter Arts Fridays in July & August from 2:00-4:00. Grades entering 6th-12th. A 6-week hands-on art series filled with creativity, inspiration, and fun. Plus, participants will enjoy a special field trip to Hudson Valley Inter Arts in Patterson, NY for a bonus Digital Arts class!

The annual Mess Fest (www.MessFest.org), taking place on Saturday, August 1, is a true celebration of kids being kids in honor of those who can't, while supporting a worthy cause, the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation to help provide better treatments for children with cancer. This is a family-friendly day filled with smiles, laughter, and pure joy.
